A smart diet is critical to your cat’s longevity and health. I believe you should understand why the best cat food diet plays such an important role in responsible kitty ownership.

It should be no surprise that the pet food industry has grown to be a billion dollar cash cow. Retail pet food sales by themselves accounted for around 3.1 billion dollars for the 52 weeks ending Jan. 27, 2007. And this figure, for some reason, excluded Wal-Mart sales. Thus it is unfortunate that some of the top-selling pet foods may be doing cats an injustice, and in some cases, may actually be harming them.

When Ann Martin’s dogs became ill back in 1990, she discovered through independent lab tests that the zinc content of the food they had been fed was 20 times higher than the recommended daily dose, and twice the level considered toxic for dogs, according to veterinarians she consulted. Ann started research to find out exactly what goes into commercial pet food. Her subsequent book, “Food Pets Die For” shook the pet food industry, and shocked and dismayed the consumers who support that industry.

Because of the developments following this book, we have many more options available to us as pet owners.

Yet learning to read cat food labels can still be an intimidating task, especially with how so many of those ingredients seem completely unknown.

So let’s start with some basics. If you weren’t already aware, you should know that ingredients are listed in order, by weight. I encourage you to compare an organic cat food to any of the main brands off the shelf of your mainstream grocery store. You will be startled.

Ideally the protein source should be the first listed ingredient in a bag of dry cat food in a maintenance diet, followed by secondary protein sources, then whatever carbohydrate fillers are included, oils or fat, other ingredients, such as fruits and vegetables, a form of preservative, and added vitamins and minerals, including taurine.

When you’re more advanced in your organic cat food knowledge, you might consider learning about a raw food diet for cats.

I hope this provides you with a stronger fundamental comprehension of your cat’s food label.

DISCLAIMER: I am neither a nutritionist nor a veterinarian. This blog post exhibits my own opinions developed as a result of years of personal research of cat foods. I urge readers do their own research to form educated opinions. You should always work with a veterinarian before following advice found on the Internet.

The scientific community links no causation between HGH anti aging. Their position is that HGH is not an anti-aging agent. In fact, the idea was first hypothesized because someone misinterpreted a study result done in 1990, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

I’m not saying that there have not been cases where people have reported the aging process was reversed by using HGH supplements. I’m just saying that so far it has not been established scientifically that this is the case. However, you should try it out for yourself. Many people like Sylvester Stallone and Suzanne Somers who use HGH have reported positive results for their appearance.

Why They Are Called HGH Releasers?

There are two different kinds of HGH products. There are some that directly contain HGH in them. There are others that contain the building blocks to the amino acids which, when ingested, stimulate the pituitary gland to naturally produce HGH. The latter are referred to as HGH releasers, because, in effect, they make the pituitary gland “release” HGH.

Many people prefer this method because it is much more natural, and usually carries with it less side effects. At the same time, it is a much cheaper alternative than some of the other products that are on the market.

The Most Common HGH Side Effects

The HGH side effects you experience are going to vary depending upon the product you use, the amount you take and how long you take it for as well as your own chemical makeup.

The worst side effect that occurs with a fairly high frequency is that HGH puts a certain segment of the population at a higher risk for getting diabetes. It has to do with HGH decreasing the amount of potassium in the body, which in turn can affect the production of insulin.

Other side effects include headaches, stiffness and soreness in the muscles and nausea.

If you have never experienced back pain or discomfort, chances are you may…

At some point in our lives many of us may find ourselves grabbing our lower back with some discomfort or even pain. The likelihood of this happening will actually increase as we get older. Whether it lasts a few hours or a few days, there are simple preventative techniques that allow for us to avoid bigger problems in the future.

Sit straight and arch your lower back

For those of you who work in a desk setting all day, remember to sit upright and keep your lower back arched. Try not to allow your neck and shoulders to lean forward while seated. Not sitting upright and arching your lower back may lead to unnecessary stress on your neck muscles.

Get off the computer every so often to stretch

Try not to remain seated for extended periods of time. Allow your muscles and joints to rest by getting up and moving around.

When you do get off the computer, make sure it isn’t to smoke

When you do find yourself taking a break from the computer, make sure it is not to go smoke. According to the North American Spine Association, nicotine limits the blood flow to the intervertebral discs. Without a healthy disc, you may find yourself with future back problems.

Exercise on your time off

Incorporate any form of exercise that upholds hip flexibility, spine stability, core strengthening and extension of the lower lumbar regions of the spine. Pilates and Yoga are great examples.

Sleep with the right posture

Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees. This will allow for your body to put less pressure on your back muscles.

By implementing the above mentioned tips, you may find yourself avoiding a trip to the doctor’s office. To learn more about non-surgical spinal decompression therapy for the treatment of chronic back pain, please visit us here.
